The pandemic has got a bunch of us stuck at home for months. But for a niche-industry in Pakistan, this WFH situation is actually trumping some of the barriers women face when entering the workforce.

Pakistan ranks 151 out of 153 in the Global Gender Gap Index, and women get pushed out of white-collar jobs for the smallest of reasons – including figuring out transport to and from office.

In such a situation, some female entrepreneurs are trying to level the playing field for other women. They are using the internet to get more women into IT jobs, increase the representation of women in leadership roles, and even helping home-bound female doctors reach patients in far-off areas.
