I made a previous video using a free bit of software called ALVR to play Steam VR sims wirelessly on the Oculus Quest. This video is an update to that, again wireless Steam VR on the Quest, but using Virtual Desktop (version 1.8) and is a MUCH MUCH better and simpler experience.
You must buy VD from the Oculus store, then side load the version of VD on SideQuest to your quest.
I get great performance, Steam VR SS at 100% and gfx in game all pretty high. The router it’s running through (in 5Ghz mode) is even in another room. 1080ti, i7 8700k, 16Gb.
You literally load VD in you Quest then 2 button presses later you are instantly in Steam VR!
Please note, the Quest is only streaming the VR, the wheel, pedals, etc, are all connected to the PC. I have to mention that as I have been asked before how I connected my wheel to the Quest. The Quest itself is not running the game.
