With gold trim and palace like appearance, All Eyes On Egipt Bookstore stands out from the rest of the neighborhood.
A group known as the Nuwabians owns the bookstore and an adjacent temple filled with Egyptian decor and figurines. The group was founded in 1970s by Dr. Malachi York, who preached restoring the ancient African culture so blacks can have full control over their bearings and government. Members of the group also believe that dark-skinned black people originate from extraterrestrial life.
